Profiling Beds

How to have a comfortable nights sleep

Relief from back pain?

Profiling beds as they are known can help to alleviate pain caused by arthritis, Emphysema, bronchitis, upper or lower spine pain, hiatus hernia, insomnia, varicose veins, stroke, leg ulcers, poor circulation and other conditions affecting mobility.

The slats in the lumber region on good quality beds are adjustable to fine tune the support in this area.

Simply raising the head end of the bed makes watching television or eating a meal in bed a joy, far more comfortable than being propped up with pillows. Raising the head end can also help stop snoring.

Raising the legs can help with reducing swelling in the legs and so alleviate problems with ulcers and breakdown of skin tissue.

By raising the head board end simply by pressing a button on the hand control also makes it easier to sit up, no more trying to pull your-self up, and simply do the reverse to lie down with ease, press the button to lower the head end, and lower your-self down onto the bed.

What size?

The width of the bed is important, for instance, if you have built in furniture, and it needs to fit between bedside tables, or you just prefer more room.

If considering purchasing for a couple, consider the flexibility of two beds clipped together, it looks like a double or king-size, but each side operates independently, allowing one person to lay flat and the other to sit up and vice versa.

With this option, if you ever needed to sleep in separate rooms one half of the bed can be separated from the other and transferred to another room, eliminating the need to buy another bed.

The Bases come in two different styles, divan or leg style. Bases with legs can be more versatile as an over bed table can be used, so meals can be eaten in bed, or maybe something to keep the mind active like playing patience or doing a jigsaw. If your needs change in the future, a hoist can also be used, and there is room for some storage under the bed, and it’s easier to Hoover under. This is not the case with a divan bed, as nothing can go under it.

The mattress height can be lowered at the factory when the bed is being made for an additional cost. The mattress stays the same, the moving part of the frame is built lower into the bed sides.
We will deliver and set up, including fitting any accessories like headboards or side rails, and take away all the packaging.

You can sleep in comfort

New mattress technology means what ever your weight, or nature of your illness, the correct mattress can be made for you, to give you correct support for ultimate comfort, this is all included in the pricing structure.

Special homecare beds are available; these have built in side rails and can be adjusted for height to enable carer’s access with ease and no back strain. The rails protect the occupant from falling out of bed.
Some of these style beds can also tilt, putting the occupant in a chair type position.

A different version of a homecare bed is called a “low” bed. This will lower to with in 15” from the floor. This can be useful to help with preventing injuries if falling out of bed could be an issue, and in some instance’s side rails would not be suitable or even allowed.

Another useful aspect of this style is if it is difficult to lift the legs into bed from a sitting position on the bed side; after sitting on the edge of the bed at a suitable height, lower the bed down to its lowest height and it will be easy to get the legs into bed as they are nearly straight. Then simply raise the bed up so it’s easy to get out during the night.

The frame work on these beds are made from metal, with a built in contempary style beech wood head and footboard so it doesn’t look “institutionalised”
